Tips/Advice to jumpstart
a career in nanotechnology
Keep up with the latest in nanotechnology by attending
meetings and conventions such as the Metroplex
Technology Business Council, which have Nanotechology
focus group meetings. Also attend the Texas Nanotechnology
initiative bi-monthly meetings.
Why did you choose
the field of nanotechnology?
I heard about it on a technology talk show and
became interested in it. I then spent several
days researching nanotechnology on the internet.
After that I was just enthralled with it. I contacted
one of the local nanotech companies to inquire
about employment and no positions were available
at the time. And then two years later, after not
getting to do any nanotech work, an opportunity
came up with that same company. They came to my
firm seeking nanotechnology patent assistance,
and since then I've been doing lots of nanotech
work.
Q. What is it like
to work in nanotechnology?
A. Very exciting and interesting.
