Special training for nanotechnology
I work specifically with semiconductors, which often coincides with nanotechnology.

Tips/Advice to jumpstart a career in nanotechnology
Keep up with the latest nanotechnology news. Nanotechnology is an engineering skill as well as a material science skill and you should develop yourself in both of these areas if you wish to successfully participate in nanotechnology.

Why did you choose the field of nanotechnology?
I was involved in the semiconductor business and so I do some work that touches the nanotechnology arena. Right now we are kind of putting a bunch of science up against a wall and seeing what sticks. There are a lot of sandboxes out there right now.

How did you first get into nanotechnology?
It was about ten years ago. I basically became aware of nanotechnology through my research in the semiconductor business.

What is it like to work in nanotechnology?
It's exciting, but it also takes a lot of time. I try not to get too caught up in the hype about it in order to produce better results.
